Monteverde Lodge

Curi-Chancha Reserve Excursion

A favorite among birders, the Curi-Chancha Reserve only allows forty visitors at once, making it considerably less crowded than the nearby Monteverde and Santa Elena reserves. The park harbors 200 acres of secondary forests with several well-maintained walking trails and open areas good for spotting wildlife. Among its roster of over 200 bird species sightings are the Resplendent Quetzal, Three-Wattled Bellbird, Black Guans, and Toucans. There are also three types of monkeys, coati, two-toed sloths, deer, kinkajou, and many more species observed within its boundaries. Expert guides take their time to ensure guests feel fully immersed in the magical environment and share their knowledge of the region’s natural history.
