When making up a guest room Mireya is a stickler for making sure that there is plenty of coffee, that everything is fresh and organized and that her towels are perfectly folded.

Gabriela Garcia Martinez
Gabriela has worked at Monteverde Lodge & Gardens for 3 years. Before working in housekeeping she worked as a babysitter for hotels in the Monteverde region.
Originally from Chontales, Nicaragua, Gabriela moved to Costa Rica with her husband and 12 year old son in hopes of finding more stable work.
Gabriela is in charge of the public areas at Monteverde Lodge and she says that she feels a sense of satisfaction when she sees guest evaluations where they've said that everything was spotless. She is especially happy when she is making new flower arrangements and freshening the couches and pillows of the reception and library.

Yarixia Fonseca Acosta
Yarixia is originally from the town of Abangares which is 2 hours from Monteverde. As a little girl she worked with her mother and her sister in their small convenience store, know in Costa Rica as a "pulpería". She remembers eating the candy that was for sale and how her mother let her get away with it.
Yarixia has a soft spot for families with children, although she says that sometimes she has to cross herself before going into one of those rooms. She remembers one room that had puzzle pieces everywhere she looked.
Her message to people considering a visit to Monteverde Lodge & Gardens: "If you come to Monteverde Lodge & Gardens, you will see things that you don't see every day. I just went to the Frog Pond and loved it."
